Jewel, in the Modern Age of Marvel Comics, is a superhero identity adopted by Jessica Jones. She first appears as Jewel in Alias #1 (November 2001).
Following a traumatic experience involving Kilgrave, Jessica attempts to use her powers for good. Carol Danvers, then Ms. Marvel, inspires her to take on the superhero persona of Jewel.
As Jewel, Jones dons a white spandex costume with a tiara and long gloves. However, her inexperience and lack of training lead to a series of mishaps and public ridicule. Discouraged, she eventually abandons the Jewel identity and becomes a private investigator.
